Sarah Mays, a Republican candidate, is vying for a position on the Greene County Board of County Commissioners. The election is scheduled for March 19.

Mays has been serving as the mayor of Xenia, her hometown, since January 2022, as stated in a post on the Cedarville University website.

According to her campaign website, Mays has numerous achievements under her belt that she believes will be beneficial in her role as county commissioner. These include her efforts to bring jobs to Xenia, which resulted in "the lowest ever unemployment rates." She also worked with a coalition of local and regional business partners to advocate for the establishment of the first STE(A)M school in Greene County. Additionally, she was successful in "leading a government with a full range of services."

On her campaign website, Mays emphasizes her collaboration with leadership at Wright-Andrews Air Force Base. She advocated for military personnel and their families while also demonstrating commitment to economic growth. She balanced this by maintaining open spaces and showing respect for agriculture.

The campaign website further reveals that Mays and her husband Adam were foster parents for ten years before adopting their three children. She is an alumna of Cedarville University.

The Greene County Board of County Commissioners serves as "the general administrative body for county government and serves as the taxing, budgeting, appropriating, and purchasing authority for Greene County," according to its official website. The Board consists of three members who are elected to serve four-year terms.
