City of Beavercreek names new 148-acre park | City of Beavercreek

The City of Beavercreek is excited to share the name of its newest and largest park. After receiving nearly 250 name submissions from the community, the 148-acre park will be called Spring House Park.

The new name was voted on by Beavercreek City Council at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, February 27, 2023. The name Spring House Park recognizes a natural spring and spring house on the property.

The name process for the new park land along Grange Hall Road, between Patterson and Shakertown Roads, began in the fall. The city received 243 name submissions through its website. Parks staff then removed names that did not align with the city’s park naming requirements and shared 143 names with Beavercreek’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Advisory Board.

After careful consideration, the city’s parks board narrowed the list and presented four names to city council - Deerfield Park, Hopewell Park, Shakertown Park, and Spring House Park.

“Beavercreek City Council would like to thank everyone who took the time to submit a name for the park,” said Beavercreek Mayor Bob Stone. “Spring House Park holds many wonderful opportunities for our community and its residents, and we look forward to this new park land being another great attraction for our city.”

Parks staff are working with Brandstetter Carroll Inc. to design a master plan for Spring House Park to create a guide for the planning and development of the new park. The process has included gathering community input, through online surveys and public forums, to ensure the new park meets the community's wants and needs.

“Spring House Park pays homage to the park land and its natural beauty,” said City Manager Pete Landrum. “Council and staff are looking forward to the unveiling of the park’s master plan and the features this park could potentially offer to the community.”

Spring House Park’s master plan will be presented to Beavercreek City Council in the coming months.
