Campus Recreation: Vermont's The Long Trail Snowshoeing & Backpacking

Challenge yourself this winter break to backpack with snowshoes on The Long Trail in Vermont! We will spend five days backpacking approximately 20 miles and camping along the Northeast Kingdom, viewing wildlife, pinion pines, sagebrush, and enjoying winter time. 

Cost: $499, $100 non-refundable deposit due to register with remaining balance due one month before trip

Cost Includes: Transportation in 12 passenger van to and from WSU, all large equipment needs, meals on trail, Trip Leaders, Guide from Step Outdoors, LLC, campsite fees, permit fees, and post-trip hotel.

Activity Level: Intermediate/Strenuous. Participants do not need prior backpacking or snowshoeing experience, however, participants should be physically able to carry up to a 40lbs backpack for up to 8 miles a day. *Must pass our fitness test of completing two miles with a 40 lb pack on an inclined treadmill in one hour*

Physical Challenge Scale: Level 4, this trip is extremely challenging.Remoteness Scale: Level 3, this is a backcountry trip.
