BG Independent News issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.
Wood County has reported seven more deaths from COVID-19 bringing the total deaths to 142 in the county. The latest deaths recorded occurred sometime since Dec. 2.
The county is now up to 7,560 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 since March, according to the Tuesday, Dec. 22, update from the Wood County Health Department. That’s 77 more cases than on Monday.
The number of active COVID cases in the county is now 366, which is 27 fewer than on Monday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
A total of 424 local residents have been hospitalized for the coronavirus since March, with five more being hospitalized since Monday.
