Starting Pay $54,728
(Based on a 52hr work Week, not including 10 paid holidays referenced in current collective bargaining agreement (CBA)

24/48 work schedule
10 paid holidays (additional 15.6 hours at your base rate, plus double time for holiday hours worked)

Department Overview:
The Bowling Green Fire Division, internationally accredited by the Commission of Fire Service Accreditation International (CFAI), is a career combination fire and emergency medical services department. The fire division is an "all hazards" emergency response agency, which provides protection to the approximately, 31,500 residents of the City, including Bowling Green State University students. Additionally, the fire division has earned an Insurance Services Office (ISO) class 2 rating. The Bowling Green Fire Division provides fire and EMS coverage to approximately 12.6 square miles of urban area located within the City of Bowling Green and fire coverage or approximately 3.4 square miles of rural area in Plain Township. The fire division responds to approximately 3200 emergency calls annually from two fire/EMS stations. The fire division currently provides services to the citizens of the Bowling Green with 36 firefighters, 2 chief officers, 3 shift captains, 9 shift lieutenants, and an administrative assistant. The fire division pursues progressive and ambitious goals related to continuous service delivery improvement.
