City of Green, Ohio issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.
Green High School students have organized a Rake and Run to lend a hand to Green residents needing assistance with Fall cleanup. This one-day event is Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Student and adult volunteers will be traveling around Green to rake and clear leaves from yards of those who sign up for the event. Registrants will be notified prior to November 21 if their yard will be raked by volunteers. Veterans, senior citizens, and residents with disabilities will take top priority.
Food drive donations will also be accepted for Blessings in a Backpack. Items most in need include individual fruit cups, individual apple sauces, peanut butter, ramen noodles, hearty soups, pasta in a can, mac and cheese, canned vegetables, beef stew, cheese or peanut butter crackers, and individual cereal cups.
